Demandan a Apple para que elimine a Telegram de la 'App Store'

La organización sin ánimo de lucro Coalition for a Safer Web demandó este domingo en el Estado de California a Apple exigiéndole que elimine Telegram de la App Store por desempeñar "un papel serio en la incitación a la violencia", después de la tensión que se presentó en Estados Unidos tanto política como social, en el que un grupo de manifestantes se tomó el Capitolio en Washington (EE. UU.).

n la demanda interpuesta ante el Tribunal de Distrito de los Estados Unidos para el norte de California, la organización asegura que desde la aplicación de mensajería no se reprimió una conversación que contribuyó a los desmanes violentos que sucedieron en Washington. Coalition for a Safer Web es un grupo que aboga por tecnologías y políticas para eliminar contenido extremista en línea.

La organización señaló que Apple debería actuar en contra de Telegram como lo hizo con Parler, la red social que cuenta con políticas de contenido menos fuertes y que fue centro de algunos grupos subversivos cuando se oficializó el triunfo de Joe Biden en las elecciones. Esta aplicación fue eliminada tanto de la App Store de Apple como de la Play Store de Google cuando se detectaron este tipo de conversaciones.

Así mismo, precisó que dentro de diferentes grupos de Telegram han encontrado contenido supremacistas blancos, neonazis y otros colectivos extremistas en las que se violan los términos y condiciones de Apple para su tienda de aplicaciones. 

Según le dijo Marc Ginsberg, presidente de la Coalición, a The Washington Post, "Telegram es el súper difusor del discurso de odio, incluso en comparación con Parler".

Además precisó que al él ser judío, todo el contenido antisemita que se comparte por Telegram lo pone en peligro y que el hecho de tener un iPhone le da el derecho a demandar a Apple ante el Tribunal Federal. Así mismo, la organización planea también una demanda en contra de Google para que elimine la aplicación de mensajería también de su tienda de aplicaciones.

n the lawsuit filed with the United States District Court for Northern California, the organization assures that the messaging application did not suppress a conversation that contributed to the violent excesses that occurred in Washington. Coalition for a Safer Web is a group that advocates for technologies and policies to remove extremist content online.

The organization pointed out that Apple should act against Telegram as it did with Parler, the social network that has less strong content policies and that was the center of some subversive groups when Joe Biden's victory in the elections became official. This application was removed from both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store when these types of conversations were detected.

Likewise, he specified that within different Telegram groups they have found content white supremacists, neo-Nazis and other extremist groups in which Apple's terms and conditions for its application store are violated.

As Marc Ginsberg, president of the Coalition, told The Washington Post, "Telegram is the super broadcaster of hate speech, even compared to Parler."

He also specified that since he is Jewish, all the anti-Semitic content that is shared by Telegram puts him in danger and that having an iPhone gives him the right to sue Apple in Federal Court. Likewise, the organization also plans a lawsuit against Google to remove the messaging application also from its application store.
