No es la primera vez que este fenómeno se presenta con la aplicación de mensajería instantánea. La última ocasión en la que se dio, hace unos siete meses, la compañía declaró que no se trataba de problema de seguridad, pero que de todas maneras le daría solución.
Como recuerda el portal especializado Andro4All, WhatsApp empezó a utilizar desde ese entonces archivos de instrucción automatizados para evitar que Google indexara ese tipo de datos como los números de teléfono de sus usuarios. Sin embargo, todo parece indicar que las acciones que tomó la aplicación no surtieron efecto del todo.
Google volvió a indexar algunos números de usuarios de WhatsApp Web de diferentes países y estos están disponibles luego de realizar determinada búsqueda. Sin embargo, las capturas de pantalla que compartió Rajshekhar Rajaharia demuestran que se debe ingresar a la barra de búsquedas un texto especial para encontrar dichos teléfonos.

“Si está utilizando WhatsApp Web, su número de móvil y mensajes están siendo indexados por Google otra vez. No sé por qué WhatsApp todavía no monitorea su sitio web y Google. Esta es la tercera vez”, escribió en Twitter el especialista en ciberseguridad.
Esta ‘brecha de seguridad’ llega en el peor momento posible para WhatsApp, justamente cuando el mundo entero tiene ‘entre ojos’ a la aplicación por su nueva política de privacidad. Tal fue la polémica en las últimas semanas que la compañía de Facebook decidió aplazar la fecha en la que los nuevos términos y condiciones entrarán en vigencia, pasándola del 8 de febrero al 15 de mayo.
