Los Simpson predijeron a Twitter 6 años antes de su creación

Twiter está lleno de gente alarmista, que se deja llevar por falsa información, personas antivacunas y cancelaciones. Todo eso lo predijeron Los Simpson.

Los Simpson… en serio, parece que entienden a la humanidad más que cualquier otra serie o persona. La cosa es que cada predicción que aciertan logra dar justo en el clavo, en especial cuando nos damos cuenta que, muchas, veces, más que predicciones sobrenaturales, estas están hechas gracias a una observación muy detallada del comportamiento humano.

Fakes news, antivacunas y cancelaciones

Claro, muchas veces parece que son magos pero en este episodio realmente se saltaron la barda al predecir cómo es las noticias, y la gente en general, se comportaría en Internet.

El episodio es el sexto de la temporada 12 y se llama “The Computer Wore Menace Shoes” o en español: “Amenaza informática”

Aquí podemos ver a Homero adquiriendo una computadora y, sin saber qué hacer con ella, crea una web en donde comienza a publicar noticias falsas basadas en rumores sin fundamento bajo el seudónimo del Señor X.

Estos rumores resultan ser ciertos en su mayoría y esto resulta en arrestos y cancelaciones publicas de otros. El problema llega cuando se queda sin noticias después de revelar su identidad, por lo que comienza a inventar noticias para seguir siendo relevante.

Inventa nuevas especies descubiertas y, además, inventa que las vacunas contra la gripe pueden hacer que el gobierno controle tu mente. Cosa que Flanders toma como cierta y no vacuna a sus hijos, quienes obviamente se ven muy enfermos.

Ya con todo eso podemos darnos cuenta que sabían como es que la gente reaccionaría en las redes a las fake news: aceptando todo cuanto lean sin investigar. Pero la cosa se pone más interesante.

Homero es secuestrado y llevado a una isla misteriosa en donde se le asigna el nombre de “5” y le confirman que las vacunas realmente controlan la mente de las personas para que consuman más en navidad. Cuando Homero logra escapar, el jefe de esta isla le dice que van a cancelar a Homero, con esas palabras exactas. Muy interesante y aterrador a la vez ¿no lo crees?

The Simpsons ... seriously, they seem to understand humanity more than any other series or person. The thing is, every prediction they get right manages to hit the spot, especially when we realize that, many times, more than supernatural predictions, these are made thanks to a very detailed observation of human behavior.

Sure, many times it seems like they are magicians but in this episode they really jumped the fence by predicting what the news is like, and people in general, would behave on the Internet.

The episode is the sixth of season 12 and is called "The Computer Wore Menace Shoes" or in Spanish: "Computer threat"

Here we can see Homer acquiring a computer and, not knowing what to do with it, he creates a website where he begins to publish false news based on unsubstantiated rumors under the pseudonym of Mr. X.

These rumors turn out to be mostly true and this results in arrests and public cancellations of others. The problem comes when you run out of news after revealing your identity, so you start making up news to stay relevant.

Invent new discovered species and, furthermore, invent that flu vaccines can make the government control your mind. Which Flanders takes as true and does not vaccinate his children, who obviously look very sick.

With all that we can realize that they knew how people would react to fake news on the networks: accepting everything they read without investigating. But things get more interesting.

Homer is kidnapped and taken to a mysterious island where he is assigned the name "5" and is confirmed that vaccines really control people's minds so that they consume more at Christmas. When Homer manages to escape, the chief of this island tells him that they are going to cancel Homer, with those exact words. Very interesting and scary at the same time, don't you think?
