La aplicación de mensajería instantánea anunció este jueves una serie de cambios para poder utilizar la versión de WhatsApp Web, la cual le permite a los usuarios ingresar a la plataforma desde un computador.
La compañía, que cuenta con más de 2 mil millones de usuarios activos, señaló que la actualización busca brindar más seguridad dentro de la app.

Para esto, ahora se le solicitará a las personas que cuenten con un dispositivo que tenga desbloqueo facial o mediante huella digital que lo usen antes de que el celular escanee el código QR que permite vincular el equipo con la versión web.
“Esto limitará la posibilidad de que un compañero de casa o de oficina (cuando los tengamos nuevamente) pueda vincular dispositivos a tu cuenta de WhatsApp sin ti. Esto agrega a nuestras medidas de seguridad existentes, que muestran un aviso en tu teléfono cada vez que ocurre un inicio de sesión en las versiones web o de escritorio, y la capacidad de desvincular dispositivos desde tu teléfono en cualquier momento”, aseguró la aplicación.
Esta nueva actualización comenzará a ser aplicada en las próximas semanas en los teléfonos inteligentes que cuenten con este tipo de tecnología y estará habilitada de forma predeterminada.
“Como la autentificación biométrica para WhatsApp web está habilitada de forma predeterminada en los teléfonos compatibles, no hay ninguna opción para eliminarla, a menos que el usuario desactive la autentificación biométrica en su dispositivo”, explica la plataforma.
WhatsApp aclara que este cambio se verá reflejado en los teléfonos iPhone que operan con iOS 14 y superior con Touch ID o Face ID, los cuales son desde el iPhone 5S en adelante. Así como con cualquier teléfono de Android que sea compatible con autentificación biométrica, entre los que está el desbloqueo facial, con huellas dactilares y con iris.
